About Me
PARTNER
Elizabeth A. Pérez, ESQ. is a Bronx-born attorney dedicated to protecting the rights and dignity of injured workers throughout New York. She represents claimants before the New York State Workers’ Compensation Board with a practice grounded in fairness, compassion, and meticulous preparation. Elizabeth brings a powerful blend of claimant advocacy and insurance defense experience, allowing her to anticipate carrier strategies and negotiate from a position of informed strength. Her belief in transparency, client empowerment, and equitable treatment shapes every aspect of her representation.
HER JOURNEY
Elizabeth was born and raised in the Bronx, where her Puerto Rican heritage and strong family roots shaped her identity and fueled her drive. All four of her grandparents immigrated from Puerto Rico to El Barrio, creating a legacy of resilience and community pride that lives through her work today. Her mother’s success as a trailblazer in the male-dominated field of information technology taught Elizabeth to meet challenges head-on, to pursue excellence without fear of rejection, and to thrive in environments where perseverance matters as much as skill. Although Elizabeth studied education in college, she soon realized that her passion lay in policy work. Her early career in human resources revealed just how deeply policy influences employment, workers’ rights, and access to fair treatment, which led her to pursue a legal career. Surrounded by family members who served in the military, Elizabeth also developed a lifelong connection to veterans and a profound respect for public service. After attempting to enlist herself, she redirected that commitment into her legal advocacy for those who have served. During law school, Elizabeth served as a student attorney for the City Bar Justice Center’s Veterans Advocacy Project, completing more than 500 hours of pro bono work. These experiences strengthened her commitment to defending underserved communities and empowering individuals navigating complex legal systems.
A PERSONAL UNDERSTANDING
Elizabeth’s dedication to Workers’ Compensation law is rooted in her own family story. Her grandfather, a healthcare union worker, and her grandmother, a factory worker, embodied the values of determination and sacrifice that define so many New York families. Elizabeth believes firmly in the foundational principles of Workers’ Compensation, recognizing that no individual should be forced to compromise their health to support their family or uphold their work ethic.
As a fluent Spanish speaker, Elizabeth is particularly attuned to the challenges faced by immigrant and bilingual clients. She provides culturally competent representation with empathy, patience, and clarity, ensuring that her clients understand the process and feel supported at every stage of their case. She has deep ties to the veteran community and remains committed to advocating for those who have served in the military or in essential public roles.
THE MORE YOU KNOW
Elizabeth joined Bronnberg and Henriquez in 2021 after five years as an insurance defense attorney, where she built meaningful relationships with opposing counsel and developed a strategic understanding of the defense perspective. This background allows her to evaluate cases with insight into how carriers assess risk and liability, giving her clients an edge in both litigation and negotiation. Colleagues, clients, and judges describe Elizabeth as honest, detailed, and passionate. She does not argue for the sake of arguing, instead prioritizing clarity, fairness, and strong ethical judgment. She received a CALI Excellence Award in Professional Responsibility during law school. She treats every case with the same dedication she would offer her own family, recognizing that each injured worker is someone’s loved one who deserves respect and unwavering advocacy. Elizabeth’s prior medical assistant training, which gives her natural familiarity with the medical terminology central to Workers’ Compensation practice, adds another layer of expertise to her case preparation and litigation work. Her ability to interpret medical records and understand clinical terminology strengthens her advocacy and enhances her communication with clients and doctors alike.

Elizabeth served as the inaugural president of MetroLALSA, Inc., a nonprofit created by and for law students across the thirteen metropolitan New York and New Jersey law school. Outside the courtroom, Elizabeth is a sports fanatic and an avid dancer. She previously competed in ballroom dance competitions and enjoys participating in fantasy football leagues. She is also a devoted Marvel fan, embracing everything from the films to the animated series and comics. At home, Elizabeth and her husband are proud pet parents to Bronx, their affectionate black lab mix who occasionally joins the office and is beloved by the firm.
